Delete Your Account

Afsoomali — account and data deletion

You can permanently delete your Afsoomali account and personal data at any time, from this page, from inside the iOS or Android app, or by email. You do not need to install the app to make this request.

What Gets Deleted

Deleting your account immediately and permanently removes:

Your email address
Your display name
Your user ID and profile record
Your login credentials and all active sessions

What Is Kept

Words, meanings, translations, and examples you contributed remain in the dictionary, but are anonymised — the author is changed to "Deleted User" and can no longer be traced back to you.

We keep the entries themselves because the dictionary is a shared, collective work. Removing contributions would delete definitions that other people depend on, and would leave gaps in a public corpus that is not solely yours. If you need a specific contribution removed rather than anonymised, email us and we will review it individually.

This cannot be undone. There is no recovery period and no way to restore the account afterwards. If you sign up again later, it will be an entirely new account.

Sign in to delete your account from this page. Signing in confirms the account is yours, so that nobody else can request its deletion.

Other Ways to Delete Your Account

In the iOS or Android app — Settings → Delete Account.
By email — if you cannot sign in, write to support@afsoomali.com from the email address on the account, with the subject "Delete my account". We verify ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days.
