The Afsoomali Project

Our Origin Story

The Afsoomali dictionary project officially started in August 2022. It was deeply inspired by the passing of the legendary Somali poet, Maxamed Ibraahim Warsame (Hadraawi). His monumental contributions to Somali literature and his flawless command of the language encouraged the founding of this platform. This project serves as a tribute to improve, preserve, and digitize the language for future generations.

Future Roadmap

Our immediate next leaps involve integrating advanced Voice models. We are actively developing Text-to-Speech (t2speech) and Speech-to-Text (speech2text) capabilities directly into the Afsoomali platform to aid pronunciation and accessibility globally.
